Weight-Loss Study

Study background

This study is researching the weight-loss effects of a new medication to treat obesity. The aim of the study is to evaluate the body weight lowering effects of the new study drug compared with Saxenda, a drug that has previously been used for weight loss. The study drug is shown to induce weight loss which reduces major adverse cardiac events, whilst also conveniently only needing to be administered weekly which aims to promote greater compliance.

To compliment the study drug, the research will also provide counselling on physical activity and diet once or twice a month to aid with weight-loss.
