INFluENZA Vaccine

Study background

Seasonal flu viruses pose a serious challenge to public health as there are 3-5 million cases of severe illness annually resulting in up to 650,000 deaths. Current flu vaccines rarely exceed 60% overall effectiveness, however flu vaccines based on new technology could provide several benefits resulting in greater effectiveness. These benefits include the ability to respond to newer strains of the virus faster and avoid mutations that could occur in vaccine development.

The flu vaccine is delivered yearly for protection against flu viruses. In this study you will either receive the new flu vaccine or a current flu vaccine.
