Flu Rapid diagnostic test
Influenza virus commonly causes respiratory symptoms and has the potential to develop into serious illness especially in high-risk groups such as older people and those with underlying conditions.
This research study is for a new rapid diagnostic test for influenza. The device aims to be an easily accessible self-testing solution for people who are experiencing respiratory symptoms to quickly diagnose influenza without needing to attend a clinic.
The study would require you to come to the clinic once for about 1 hour. The visit would involve a nasal swab which would be inserted into a testing device that links to a phone app and another swab taken by a study personnel to be sent to a lab for testing.
You will be reimbursed for your time and expenses related to the research study.
