Influenza and Covid-19 Combination Vaccine
Study background
Influenza, commonly called the flu, is a highly contagious virus and is one of the leading causes of death in the world and older adults are at a greater risk of serious complications, such as lung and heart diseases. COVID-19 is also highly infectious and annual boosters are recommended to maintain a high level of protection over time.
This research study is being conducted as there is a need for a combination vaccine of Influenza and COVID-19 to ensure there is continuing protection annually when the viruses are in circulation. This type of combination vaccine of Influenza and COVID-19 will make it easier to receive protection against both viruses in one vaccine rather than receiving the vaccines individually in the future.
