Coronavirus Vaccine
Study background
The COVID-19 pandemic is a crisis affecting many globally requiring 5% of those infected admission into an intensive care unit.
This is a Coronavirus clinical trial researching an existing Tuberculosis vaccine that may help with the prevention of severe symptoms associated with COVID-19 infection in higher-risk population groups.
Study Details
The study would require participants to visit the clinic for up to an hour for only one visit. The participant would need to have a negative result of COVID-19 in the last 14 days to be vaccinated with either the study vaccine or a placebo. The participant would then download an app on their phone to fill out questionnaires periodically over the next 6 months. If a participant were to obtain symptoms related to COVID-19 they will need to be tested for the virus.
Eligibility criteria
The participant must be in ONE of the following groups:
- A Healthcare Worker
- 65 Years and Older
- 18 Years and Older with ONE or more of the following conditions:
- Diabetes (Type I or II)
- Asthma
- High Blood Pressure
- COPD
- Emphysema
- Previously have had a Heart Attack
- Other co-morbidities may be considered
The participant must also be negative for COVID-19
